The South Korean Automotive Giant Will
Build a Factory in the Cikarang Departing
on Saturday, returning on Wednesday. For
five days on November 23-27, I went to South Korea to attend a series of
ASEAN-Republic of Korea Summit events in Busan City. The summit was held to
commemorate 30 years of good relations between ASEAN and South Korea.
While in Busan, I also visited the tourist
village of Gamcheon Culture Village, held a bilateral meeting with President
Moon Jae-in, a number of South Korean company leaders, and also discussed with
Indonesian scientists and young researchers in the country.
From Busan, I went to Ulsan City, visiting
the Hyundai Motor Company (HMC) factory. The South Korean auto giant will build
a factory in the Cikarang area, West Java in January 2020 which will absorb
3,500 workers.
